Makenzie Smith, RBT

Makenzie Smith is a registered behavior technician (RBT) providing ABA therapy to children in the FOCUS Therapy clinic in Fort Myers since 2023.

With 7 years of experience as a preschool teacher, she became immersed in the world of behavior therapy after her son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

“Wanting to help him is what initially inspired me to become an RBT, but I’m also interested in better understanding kids’ behavior generally,” she explained. “I love teaching and helping children and watching them grow.”

A native of Palm Bay, Florida, she moved to Southwest Florida at age 13. A 2018 graduate of Riverdale High School, Smith is currently enrolled at Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers, working toward an A.A. in general studies. She’s also an entrepreneur with a small graphic t-shirt business.

In her free time, she loves days at the park and playing toy dinosaurs with her son.
