Angela Ryerson, RBT
RBT (Registered Behavior Technician)
Angela Ryerson has worked as a registered behavior technician (RBT) at FOCUS Therapy since 2024. With a bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Studies from FGCU, Ryerson started at FOCUS with 3 years of experience in ABA and 10 years experience in childcare.
Her love of working with children and seeing the direct impact of progress is what drew her to ABA therapy in the first place. She enjoys working with all kids, but feels particular affinity for those who may be facing significant struggles.
“Having been in the foster care system myself, I think I have often had success with children in similar situations — especially those who are neurodivergent,” Ryerson said. “I love working with children because they are so pure, and they teach me just as much as I teach them. I love that they are our future – and that I can have a hand in helping them discover what’s possible.”
Here in Southwest Florida, she loves the beaches and her family who have settled here, but has found a family in the FOCUS team as well.
“FOCUS is very team-oriented, and I love how friendly and helpful everyone is,” Ryerson said. “There is no one-size-fits-all, and I think that’s the beauty of having so many different minds that think in different ways. I treat my clients I would want my own child to be treated.”
