Fort Myers child speech therapy
M.S., CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist
Stefani Dougherty is a speech-language pathologist who joined FOCUS Therapy in 2022. Prior to that, she earned her bachelor’s degree in communication science, followed by her master’s in speech language pathology from the University of South Florida. She also had three years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum, as well as speech-language disorders, down syndrome, and specific learning disabilities. She also worked in Acute Care at Lee Health, providing cognitive and dysphagia therapy to those on the ICU, Trauma and Neuro floors.
A native of Fresno, CA who grew up in Cape Coral, FL, Stefani was drawn to the field of speech therapy while looking to strike a balance between working in the fields of medicine and education. She especially loves working with children who have speech and language delays.
“I enjoy watching children learn and grow through their environment,” she explained. “I love that they always have something new to teach adults, and that they’re like little sponges, taking in information all around them.”
Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy spending time with their 3-year-old son and 9-month-old daughter, especially being outdoors and traveling.
