Mara Nasca, Practice Director
Mara Nasca joined the FOCUS Therapy team in 2020, bringing a wealth of experience in medical group management and public administration.
Nasca earned her B.S. in Education and Psychology from the University of Dayton in Ohio and later her Master of Public Administration from the University of South Florida. A Certified Medical Practice Executive by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), she was previously awarded a fellowship with the Physician Leadership Institute.
Mara’s professional passion is leadership development and collaborative team-building. She has always loved working with children and supported pediatric practices by working with provider management teams prior to joining FOCUS.
“Children are full of wonderment, energy – and always learning,” Nasca said.
The opportunity to help unlock the full potential of business and medical teams is what drove her to become a professional coach and facilitator. She specializes in corporate cultural transformation, team-building and positive patient experience. She says part of what sets FOCUS apart from other therapy practices is the collaboration between therapists of all disciplines.
“FOCUS has a dedicated staff of compassionate individuals who truly love working with the children,” Nasca said. “It is very refreshing to be a part of this team’s positive energy.”
She believes pediatric therapy is most effective when it is holistic, tailored to the individual and offers sufficient parent support & education to ensure home carryover.
Prior to working in healthcare, Nasca served at the will of the Governor as a Program Administrator for the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), where she had the opportunity to be lead negotiator for several of the largest administrative penalties in the State of Florida under the federal Clean Air Act. She is currently a member of Pi Alpha Alpha; the National Honor Society for Public Affairs.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio (Go Browns & Tribe!), Nasca was captivated by Southwest Florida’s gorgeous weather and breathtaking beaches. After years of vacationing, she decided to move here for good. She’s an amateur/professional photographer who also enjoys designing and creating stained glass windows, riding roller coasters, cheering her favorite sports teams and reading leadership books. Mara prides herself on being a lifelong learner and owner of the title, “Favorite Aunt.”
