Emily Gibson is a registered behavior technician on FOCUS Florida’s ABA therapy team in Fort Myers. A Cape Coral native earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology, she is passionate about working with children and serving others, believing (as Plato said): “You can discover more about a person in one hour of play than in a year of conversation.”
The most rewarding aspect of ABA therapy work is witnessing the progress of each child daily, she said, adding that FOCUS has cultivated a uniquely close-knit, team-treatment approach that proves consistently effective.
“You won’t find another group of people who truly love what they do and love the children they serve,” Gibson said. “It’s the staff as much as the kids that makes this work so enjoyable, and seeing therapists work with other patients inspires me to be a better therapist myself.”
When not at FOCUS, Gibson, a self-described “chicken wing aficionado and sunshine enthusiast,” spends free time with family outdoors, playing soccer and discovering new spots to soak in the Florida sun.
