Brooke is a certified occupational therapist-assistant, driven to make a difference following her son’s a diagnosis of autism at age 3. Brooke also has the unique perspective of having personally received pediatric therapy as a child. These experiences give her a rare window of understanding into what many FOCUS families are facing.
She grew up in Wisconsin and later moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Eventually, she was drawn to Southwest Florida for the sunshine and decided to stay after earning her associate’s degree in occupational therapy in 2014. What she appreciates most about FOCUS is the value placed on the multi-disciplinary approach. Each therapist has a genuine passion for the kids with whom they are working. She believes in meeting each child where they are and building on that foundation – going at the child’s pace, rather than her own. Brooke has valuable insight in providing support to both patients and parents as they navigate what it means to have a child with special needs and how to optimize their child’s chances for success. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, spending time with her son and volunteering at her church in the special needs ministry and nursery.
